[AlbaNova] AlbaNova summer letter

Dear AlbaNova colleagues

It has been an intense academic year and AlbaNova and the Albano campus is under rapid development. The Albano campus is approaching completion and will be officially inaugurated in September. The Albano river is flowing, and green areas are emerging.  We look forward to a lively campus environment filled with more students and a mix of science areas. The long-planned skywalk connection between the main building and Hus 3 is finally in place.  The new colloquium reception and the new information monitor in the rotunda have been very successful.

The roof renovation on the C-block is ongoing and will continue during summer. Unfortunately drilling noise disturbance is expected. The work plan has been distributed separately so office work hours can be planned accordingly.

There are also several planned developments.  A new AlbaNova web is coming soon.  Navigation terminals will be installed in the main entrances and will replace the discontinued visitor reception office.  The server hall renovation is about to start with installation of a new cooling system.  There will be a name change of the The Svedberg lecture hall to Lise Meitner.  The entrance area to the skywalk will be decorated.  The Nobel portrait collection will be replaced by astronomical pictures and digital displays with science presentations.

The goods reception will be open as usual throughout the summer, as will the service office. If you experience building related issues contact service at albanova.se<mailto:service at albanova.se>

Finally, AlbaNova is a fruitful collaboration project between SU and KTH and it is up to us all to contribute to developing our joint scientific environment.  Suggestions, questions and good ideas are welcome.
