<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-family:"Times New Roman",serif">On Monday, May 21 the renowned climate researcher Dr. Ramanathan, Distinguished Professor of Atmospheric and Climate Sciences at the Scripps Institution of Oceanography, University of California,
San Diego, will give two talks at Stockholm University. Professor Veerabhadan Ramanathan is a science adviser for the Vatican and he was the one who convinced Pope Francis to, in his speeches, ask people to be better stewards of the planet. This was a sensation
since it was the first time that the Catholic Church talked about climate change. He has won numerous prestigious awards including the Tyler prize, the top environment prize given in the US; the Volvo Prize; the Rossby Prize and the Zayed prize. In 2013, he
was awarded the top environment prize from the United Nations, the Champions of Earth for Science and Innovation. He has been elected to the US National Academy of Sciences, American Philosophical Society, the Pontifical Academy by Pope John Paul II and the
Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences.</span><span style="font-size:14.0pt;font-family:"Times New Roman",serif"><o:p></o:p></span></p>
