Course in Academic Writing

The course ”Academic writing” will be given in the form of two one-day workshops organized by the Centre for Academic English at Stockholm University. The workshops have been prepared and, where possible, tailor-made for the doctoral students at Fysikum. 
The focus of the first workshop will be on the rhetorical structure of the Research Article (RA), also including the general principles and conventions of scientific writing. 
The second workshop will focus on strategies when preparing a research article for submission and when navigating peer-reviewers’ comments. 
There will be two separate days where individual tutorials will be scheduled with the participants on their manuscripts.

The course ”Academic Writing” is one part of the mandatory (for students starting after 1 jan 2018) course ”Introduction to Doctoral Studies at the Department of Physics FK40005. 5 credits.” 
Students accepted before this date are welcome to follow the course, but there is a limited number of participants for each installment.

Workshop 1, October 9, 10-16
Workshop 2, October 23, 10-16
Individual tutorials November 7 & 8.
