Dear teachers and teaching assistants,

A major part of being a teacher is interacting with the students and inevitably forming a relationship with them. Whether this relationship is mostly speaking in front of a large group of students or working more closely with smaller groups or even with individual students, you may from time to time have found yourself in a situation where you have reflected about your role as a teacher in relation to the student(s) – maybe even making you feel uncomfortable or uncertain about how to act. For example, you may have experience of one student taking up a lot of time in class at the expense of the other students, a student may have asked you for preferential treatment, or maybe you have just experienced an instance where the pedagogical atmosphere has been negatively influenced without you knowing exactly why. Regardless of what kind of social situation you have encountered in your role as a teacher, it could be very developing to discuss it with your colleagues, hear about their experience as well, and hopefully be able to share good advice. If you have an authentic experience that you would like to share and discuss, you are welcome on Thursday the 23rd of May at 15:00-16:00 in FA31. Smaller groups will be formed and everyone’s personal experience will be shared and discussed. Please note that the workshop is based on active participation, so be prepared to share an authentic experience.

Time: Thursday the 23rd of May at 15:00-16:00
Place: FA31
No registration needed.

Welcome!
Best regards /Emely K-L, Magnus A, and Emma W
