Dear all,
<div class=""><br class="">
</div>
<div class="">Information on the <a href="https://www.fysik.su.se/english/education/courses-programmes/course-information/doctoral-courses?kurs=FK40001" class="">Colloquia in Physics course</a> has been scant recently. Here I’ll try to make amends:</div>
<div class=""><br class="">
</div>
<div class=""><b class="">For new PhD students:</b> </div>
<div class=""><br class="">
</div>
<div class="">The course aims to broaden the PhD education beyond what you get in your research topic and in other courses. It is mandatory for the Physics and the Theoretical Physics PhD degree. Steps are underway to make registration automatic for these PhD
students, but this is not yet implemented. Stay tuned. </div>
<div class=""><br class="">
</div>
<div class=""><br class="">
</div>
<div class=""><b class="">For all interested PhD students, new and old:</b></div>
<div class=""><b class=""><br class="">
</b></div>
<div class="">On Nov 12, <a href="https://indico.fysik.su.se/event/7120/" class="">Marc Kamionkowski’s colloquium</a> will be a part of the course. Some days in advance the new course page on Athena will be online and and a a pre-colloquium meeting hosted by
David Marsh will be announced as a first part of a colloquium module around Kamionkowski’s colloquium. The abstract is not yet published, but it looks really interesting! </div>
<div class=""><br class="">
</div>
<div class="">There will be more details about the course for new participants, which should allow everyone who wants to start with the above module to do so. (For newcomers: You complete the course by passing ten colloquium modules, but you do not have to
take all modules that are offered.)</div>
<div class=""><br class="">
</div>
<div class="">Exactly how these first announcements will be made depends on how the upgrade of the registration process and a revision of the course roster proceeds. If specific methods become too cumbersome, I’ll have to spam this
<a href="mailto:drand@fysik.su.se" class="">drand@fysik.su.se</a> address. At least, everyone who is obliged to take the course should be reached. If you haven’t heard anything before Monday, Nov 9, something has gone wrong. Then contact me! (Otherwise, you
should only need to mail me under special circumstances.)</div>
<div class=""><br class="">
</div>
<div class="">In the meantime, if you haven’t used the <a href="https://athena.itslearning.com/?LanguageId=1" class="">Athena</a> platform, I recommend you acquaint yourself with it. If you cannot log in with a university account, or don’t yet have one, contact
the study administration.</div>
<div class=""><br class="">
</div>
<div class=""><br class="">
</div>
<div class=""><b class="">For PhD students that are already participating</b></div>
<div class=""><b class=""><br class="">
</b></div>
<div class="">We are not supposed to use the old mondo site, although the information there is still accessible, and I have backed up most of it and all essentials. That our standard communication channel has been blocked is one of the reasons for my radio
silence. I also wanted to have something concrete to tell you.</div>
<div class=""><br class="">
</div>
<div class=""><br class="">

<div class=""><b class="">For everyone</b></div>
<div class=""><b class=""><br class="">

<div class="">Welcome to colloquia whether you take the course or not!</div>
