bioparticles evolve in complex environments under elaborated motions due to a range of bulk and surface interactions. Under a temperature gradient, the particle is driven toward regions of higher temperatures in a process called thermal regelation. Thermal
regelation and activity control the redistribution of bioparticles in the ice core, playing a major role in paleoclimatology and climate change. Re-casting this class of regelation phenomena in the stochastic framework of active Ornstein-Uhlenbeck dynamics,
we find that the activity influences particle dynamics during thermal regelation by enhancing the effective diffusion coefficient.
