Biodiversity data systems developer

The Swedish Museum of Natural History (NRM) is looking to fill a position as systems developer in the national research infrastructure SBDI (Swedish Biodiversity Data Infrastructure; see https://biodiversitydata.se).

You will be working within a team of systems developers and bioinformaticians at NRM supporting data-driven research in biodiversity. The team is backed by the SBDI consortium of 11 universities and government agencies in Sweden, the Swedish Research Council, DDLS (the Data-Driven Life Science initiative from the Knut and Alice Wallenberg Foundation; see https://www.scilifelab.se/data-driven/) and SciLifeLab.

The NRM team is working in close collaboration with the Living Atlases Community (see https://living-atlases.gbif.org/), an international open-source community focused on developing and maintaining the underlying biodiversity data platform used by Sweden and many other countries around the world. The Swedish instance of the platform is currently run using Docker and OpenStack on cloud services provided by SUNET, but the platform will be moved in the near future to similar services provided by SNIC and its successor NAISS. Going forward, the work will be tightly integrated with the SciLifeLab Data Centre, and form part of the Data Science Node in Evolution and Biodiversity supported by DDLS.

Deadline for application is December 13. More information about the position and application instructions can be found here: https://www.nrm.se/en/ommuseet/jobbahososs/ledigatjanster.9005019.html

Direct questions about the position to Margret Steinthorsdottir, Director of SBDI (margret.steinthorsdottir at nrm.se).
