Dear colleague,

Could you please circulate the following ad for a PhD position?

In my group, we have an open PhD position to work on the recognition of
specific pollutants by fish receptors (xenosensors). The PhD student will
be part of a larger project involving experimentalists and aiming at developing
a biosensor for detection of environmental pollutants.

The PhD project will involve genome mining to retrieve relevant receptor
sequences in a selection of species, modelling of protein structures and
high-throughput docking, as well as molecular dynamics simulations. We are
looking for a candidate preferably with experience in molecular modeling
from their master project and good programing skills. Candidates with a
degree in bioinformatics (and good programming skills) will also be
considered. Excellent command of English is required. We are part of the
Computational Biology Unit at U.Bergen (Norway), an international center
counting 13 research groups spanning a wide breadth of computational
biology research.

Candidates can email me for more information.

Deadline for submission of application: 18.09.2023

Starting date: November 2023 (can be discussed)

More information and application procedure can be found at

Kind regards,

Nathalie
