In a study published in Scientific Reports (https://www.nature.com/articles/s41598-018-32610-z) a new method is presented for obtaining new information related to atmospheric particle formation from vapors.
“This is an important step forward in understanding and predicting the number and effects of atmospheric aerosols”, says Tinja Olenius, lead author, Bolin Centre member and research scientist at ACES.

Gustaf Hugelius one of 11 "Nature Index 2018 Rising Stars"!
Gustaf Hugelius, co-lead of the research area Biogeochemical cycles and climate at the Bolin Centre and senior lecturer at Department of Physical Geography, has been interviewed as one of the "Nature Index 2018 Rising Stars (https://www.nature.com/articles/d41586-018-06622-8) ". He has pioneered the use of high-resolution satellite imagery, calibrated with field samples, to show that northern soils, due to seasonal freezing and thawing, are far more variable and complex in composition than the comparatively simple ‘backyard’ soil types used in climate modelling.
