[Drand] SUSY reading course

Dear all,

In the fall we will start a reading course in supersymmetry mainly intended for PhD students in particle theory but in principle open for anyone. We will meet once per week for two hours and the content of these meetings will probably consist of discussing a chapter in the course book that everyone has read beforehand and/or solving and discussing exercises and problems (we will decide on the format at the first meeting). The course will be handled by the participants themselves and each participant will be responsible for leading the discussion one or several meetings (i.e. there will not be any lectures as in a usual course).

Course book: Supersymmetry in Particle Physics, An Elementary Introduction by Ian Aitchison
This book is available as an e-book through the university library (link: http://libris.kb.se/bib/13045002 )
We will essentially go through the book from start to finish.

Suggested prerequisites: a course in quantum field theory

First meeting: October 29, 13.15 in A5:0019 (one of the group rooms in the CoPS corridor).
During this meeting we will mainly discuss the format of the course.

We will continue for approximately 15 meetings, which means that we will be done in the middle of the spring semester (first half of March). The preliminary plan is to meet Thursdays after lunch (13-15).

It should be possible to get credits (hp) for this course - as far as I understand this is in principle up to your supervisor to decide.
