Just a quick reminder about the C&G working group that's starting in 77 minutes (13:15).
* Note that we'll be in room FC61 (astronomy corridor, 6th floor).
* Andreas had to cancel last minute so we'll only have one short talk today.
* There will be chocolate cake.

?Hej again,
Slight change of plans. This Wednesday, we'll have two 20 minute talks with strictly enforced time limits (we didn't do such a good job two weeks ago).
In addition to Miguel's talk, we'll have Andreas Sandberg from the SU Astronomy Department give a talk titled: Using the spectra of galaxies to do cosmology.
Sorry for the confusion!
Cheers,
Jon

Dear all,
This Wednesday at 13:15, Miguel Zumalacarregui from Nordita will be telling us about Introduction to Boltzmann codes and the Cosmic Linear Anisotropy Solving System. Note that this time, we'll be in a room FC61 in the astronomy corridor.
Miguel promised to spend some time giving a pedagogical overview of the role of Boltzmann codes in cosmology. I'll leave you with a paragraph from Dodelson's Modern Cosmology:
In the 1960s a national magazine ran a cartoon showing dozens of businessmen and -woman walking the streets of Manhattan looking very important and serious. Thought bubbles over each head revealed their true focus: each was imagining a raucus sex scene. In at least some ways, the Boltzmann equation plays a similar role for physicists and astronomers: no one ever talks about it, but everyone is always thinking about it.
As usual, we'll have some form of pastries.
Cheers,
Jon
