Research Associate Professor in Bioinformatics.

Applications are invited for a temporary Associate Professorship (group 
leader) in computational analysis of human promoters. The position is 
part of a research project on computational analysis of gene regulation 
in human disease funded by the Novo Nordisk Foundation. The successful 
candidate will be expected to build a competitive research group in 
collaboration with the PIs on the project (Anders Krogh, Finn Cilius 
Nielsen and Kristian Helin). Competitive funding will provided to hire 
PhD students and/or postdoctoral fellows. Priority will be given to 
candidates with a record of outstanding scientific achievements in 
Bioinformatics and in particular in applications of probabilistic models 
such as Gibbs sampling, Bayesian networks and/or hidden Markov models in 
promoter analysis or related fields.

Candidates must hold a Ph.D. degree in Bioinformatics or a related field 
and have at least three years of relevant postdoctoral experience. The 
appointment is until April 2010.

The position is placed at the Bioinformatics Centre, Institute of 
Molecular Biology and Physiology at the University of Copenhagen. The 
Centre is going to have 15-18 researchers and Ph.D. students. The group 
associated with this project will also form a part of the Biotech 
Research and Innovation Centre (directed by Kristian Helin).

Terms of appointment and payment according to the agreement between the 
Ministry of Finance and AC (The Danish Confederation of Professional 
Associations) on Academics in the State. In addition to the salary based 
on seniority the successful applicant will receive an annual pensionable 
supplement of DKK 43,723.65. Negotiation for further supplement will be 
possible.

applicant considers particularly relevant (max. 10).

It should be noted that:

- The applicants will be notified about the composition of the 
assessment committee.

- The assessment committee may require supplementary documentation, 
which the applicant must then provide.

- The assessment committee may base the assessment on any publication on 
the publication list.

- The applicants may be summoned for an interview and/or requested to 
give a trial lecture.

- When the assessment committee's report is submitted, each applicant 
will receive only the part of the report relating to him/herself, as 
information about the other applicants according to the rules is 
confidential and may not be revealed to other applicants.
