Are you a computer scientist or a bioinformatician interested in
specializing in the booming field of systems biology? The University of
Helsinki, Department of Computer Science is looking for clever,
hard-working PhD and Masters students to join the metabolic modelling
projects led by professors Esko Ukkonen and Juho Rousu. We offer a
thriving working environment in the national centre of excellence
research unit Algodan, challenging real-world research problems related
to the computational modelling of fluxome and metabolome, high-quality
supervision and international collaboration. From the candidates we
expect dedication and an ability to independent thinking. Bachelor or
Masters degree in computer science, bioinformatics or in a strongly
related field is also required. Studies or other experience in data
analysis or in algorithmics and programming skills are essential for a
succesful candidate. Previous experience in the fields of systems
biology or bioinformatics and studies in mathematics and in statistics
are welcomed.

The salaries for the positions will be based on level 2 - 4 (PhD
student) and level 1 (Master's student) of the demands level chart for
teaching and research personnel in the salary system of Finnish
universities.
