Postdoctoral fellow: Genome and transcriptome analyses of bark beetle-conifer-fungus interactions
The Norwegian Forest and Landscape Institute (Skog og landskap) is seeking a postdoctoral fellow for a bark beetle transcriptomics/genomics project funded by the Norwegian Research Council's FRIMEDBIO program.
The postdoctoral fellow will join a team with a strong track record studying conifer-bark beetle-fungus interactions. You will play a central role in the bark beetle transcriptomics part of the project, and be responsible for Next Generation Sequencing of the beetle transcriptome and bioinformatics work on beetles, trees and fungi.
Qualifications
The applicants must have:
A PhD in in genomics, bioinformatics, transcriptomics or molecular biology
Experience in transcriptomic analysis and bioinformatics, preferably in insect systems
Excellent communication skills in English, both spoken and written
The ability to begin project work at Skog og landskap before August 1, 2013
Candidates with experience in Next Generation Sequencing are preferred, but training can be provided in our in-house NGS lab.
