Dear Rune,

We are writing to you for your help in recommending a colleague, post-doc
or former student for an Associate Editor position at Science Signaling in
the specific area of Systems Biology of Signaling. Because you have
published a noteworthy paper, in Science Signaling or other high-profile
journals, that uses a systems biology approach to examine cell signaling
networks, we wanted to make you aware of this position, and ask you to
specifically suggest people who can help us grow this aspect of our
Journal.

We are seeking a scientist who has broad knowledge of signaling pathways,
experience using systems biology approaches to build and analyze signaling
networks, familiarity with computational methods for studying cellular
signaling and signal-response processes, and an eagerness to learn new
scientific areas. In short, this editor will be responsible for managing
the peer review of the sort of research that is done in your lab.

Candidates should be fluent in English, excellent communicators (both in
writing and speech), self-motivated and able to thrive in a deadline-driven
environment. He or she should have demonstrated time-management skills. The
position requires a Ph.D. and postdoctoral experience resulting in
publication of primary literature.

Please distribute this job ad to those your lab and to your other
colleagues. If it could be posted on a departmental bulletin board, that
would be ideal. If someone you know has the appropriate experience and
characteristics, please ask them to apply for the position.

*Science Signaling* is a journal published by AAAS, which is located in
Washington, DC. Ideally, the Associate Editor would work from our DC
office. More details about the position and how to apply are on the
attached file.

Sincerely and thank you in advance,

Nancy Gough and Michael Yaffe

Rune
