An assistant professor position in Bioinformatics and Computational Biology with emphasis on large-scale data analysis is open at SciLifeLab and KTH.

The position is focused on Algorithm Design and Machine Learning applied to large-scale experimental datasets generated in genomics, transcriptomics, and proteomics. Here Machine Learning refers to Statistical Machine Learning and Bayesian methodologies. The position involves research and approximately 25% teaching. It belongs to the Department of Computational Biology (CB) at the School of Computer Science and Communication (CSC) at KTH but the assistant professor will be located at SciLifeLab.

Science for Life Laboratory (SciLifeLab) is a national center for molecular biosciences with focus on health and environmental research. The center combines frontline technical expertise with advanced knowledge of translational medicine and molecular bioscience. SciLifeLab is a national resource and a collaboration between four universities: Karolinska Institutet, KTH Royal Institute of Technology, Stockholm University, and Uppsala University. CB does research on mathematical modeling of biological systems and on developing algorithms and software for simulating biological functions and analyzing biological data. CSC is one of Sweden’s most advanced and successful research and education institutions in Information Technology.
