VR applications, young scientists

In the spring of 2015 there will be an opportunity for young scientists,
i.e. everyone with a PhD awarded later than 2008-01-01 (plus extra time for
parental leave etc) to apply for VR grants (see www.vr.se). These grants
can be used to cover up to 75% of the salary of the applicant and finance
some of her/his research. The remaining 25% of the salary have to be paid
by the department. To apply it is necessary to have the support by an
academic institution, such as DBB.

At DBB we only want to recruit scientists that would add to our research
environment and that have a reasonable chance to succeed as independent
scientists given the tough situation of funding today. At DBB we have been
very limited in supporting these applications the last few years and we
cannot guarantee that we will support any applications 2015. Therefore, we
have decided to ask all interested applicants to submit a pre-application
by 2015-01-30 to lena.maler at dbb.su.se. The application should contain (i) a
one page presentation of the planned research (ii) a short cv and (iii)
list of publications. The applicant will be informed by mid February
whether DBB will support the VR application or not.

Yours

Arne
