Microsoft Healthcare is responsible for research, incubation, and product
engineering, as well as strategic partnerships that drive cross-company
strategy and value creation in the health and life sciences. Microsoft
Genomics represents one of our cornerstone investments in the multi-omics
landscape. It comprises a small and highly effective team that has now laid
the groundwork (e.g. launching the Microsoft Genomics Service a year ago)
to pursue a deeper agenda in the space.
Responsibilities

We are looking for a passionate, experienced leader who will apply
scientific, engineering, and commercial expertise in order to evolve/define
vision, manage/inspire (and grow) the team, orchestrate
cross-organizational collaboration, and drive effective execution – all to
positively impact the practice of healthcare and to create value for
Microsoft.


Qualifications

Required

·        Graduate degree (e.g. MS, PhD, MD) in computer science, genomics,
biology, medicine, or related field

·        5+ years experience in people management and/or leadership position

Preferred Qualifications

·        Proven track record in scientific, engineering, and commercial
endeavors, ideally in computational genomics (or life science) domain

·        Experience working with public clouds (e.g. Microsoft Azure,
Amazon Web Services, Google Cloud Platform)

·        Curious, with strong entrepreneurial spirit and passion to deliver
on the promise of technology in an exciting, competitive, and sometimes
difficult vertical

·        Ability to contribute across disciplines and create clarity for
self and others in the face of uncertainty
