Open PhD position in Applied Mathematics: Machine Learning and Conformal Prediction, applied to Drug Discovery and Cancer Diagnostics

There is an opportunity to apply for a PhD student position in Applied Mathematics with a project from our group with the title: “Machine Learning and Conformal Prediction, applied to Drug Discovery and Cancer Diagnostics”. The PhD student will also join CIM’s graduate school in interdisciplinary mathematics, including seminars, scientific consultation, and workshops. The overarching aim of this project is to contribute to theory and applications of machine learning with valid confidence estimates or probabilities. Building on established mathematical theories and the availability of big data frameworks, you will contribute towards improving large-scale predictive modeling in life science with applications including drug discovery and cancer diagnostics.

This is a join position between Uppsala University, Karolinska Institutet, AstraZeneca R&D, and Royal Holloway University of London. It is expected that the successful candidate will do research visits at these sites.
