recruiting *four Group Leaders*, junior to senior levels, who use and
develop AI methods and mechanistic mathematical models in the field of life
sciences.
We kindly ask for your assistance in sharing these opportunities within

*Research focus*
We are seeking candidates with a background in machine learning or a
related quantitative field who apply AI and mathematical modeling to
address fundamental questions in biology. Examples of research topics
include:
- development of new AI architectures for biology and hybrid models that
combine deep learning with mechanistic models
- foundation models of genome regulation using single-cell and spatial
multi-omics data
- AI-based modeling of protein structure and protein interaction networks
- AI-based modelling of cell morphology and tissue function using
imaging and computer vision
*Stimulating environment*
We offer substantial core research funding and state-of-the-art facilities
within a collaborative and dynamic academic environment. The positions are
based in either Leuven or Ghent (Belgium).

and *ecosystems* to tackle biological questions with cutting-edge AI. Areas
of interest may include, but are not limited to:
- AI-driven modeling across scales (from genotype to phenotype)
- AI-powered biodiversity studies at the molecular level
- AI modeling in molecular ecology and evolution
We also welcome applied research projects, such as developing AI tools for
precision agriculture or biodiversity conservation.

metabolome
- modeling cell and tissue morphology through imaging and computer vision
We also welcome applicants with applied projects in areas like:
- drug discovery (protein modeling & design)
- synthetic biology & bio-engineering
- AI-driven experiments (experiment-in-the-loop)
- AI-based modeling on clinical data, diagnostics, medical imaging and
