To PhD students at the Department of Astronomy, Mathematics,
Meteorology(MISU) and Physics:
*Invitation to the course "Ethics in Research".*
It is mandatory for all PhD students at Stockholm University to have a
proper education in and knowledge of ethics in research. For PhD
students at the departments listed above it is thus mandatory to take
part in the course "Ethics in research" (Forskningsetik och vetenskaplig
redlighet) (unless you have already passed this or the previous version
of the course, "Seminar on ethics in research"). The course is planned
to be given once a year. Next opportunity is in April this Spring, with
a course start on Friday, April 16, according to the attached schedule
(the lectures on April 16 are fixed in time, and mandatory, but as you
see the rest of the schedule is still open).
The course comprises a set of lectures given by Professor Christina
Moberg, KTH, followed by group discussions and presentations on specific
topics, lead by conveners from the four departments. English will be
used throughout. More details will be distributed prior to the course
start. Due to the pandemic situation the course will probably be done
over zoom only.
To take part, apply via email to Gorica Nikolic, student expedition,
Physics Department, 08-55378650, gorica.nikolic at fysik.su.se
<gorica.nikolic at fysik.su.se>.
Deadline for application is Friday, March 26. Please give name,
department and the date for admission to graduate studies. Also, even if
you applied last time and could not join due to over-booking, please
apply again and inform us about this. For PhD students at Fysikum -
this is part of the Introduction course - but you have to apply (as
described above) in order to follow the ethics part of the course now.
The number of participants is restricted to around 50. If the course is
overbooked, priority will be given to those who apply first (or applied
last time).
Welcome to apply,
Per-Erik Tegnér
