Dear Juniors,

It is a great pleasure to announce that on Friday, March 11th at 4:00pm, Alexandre will talk about “The other Planck scale”.

Abstract: The current cosmological model, Lambda-CDM, was partly built from observations of the existence and properties of the Cosmic Microwave Background. Since the 1960s, various experiments have measured the properties of this near-isotropic radiation with increasing precision. In particular, the Planck satellite provides some of the strongest constraints on Lambda-CDM’s parameters. However, other CMB experiments sometimes disagree with Planck, even though they are observing the same object. After a basic introduction to CMB experiments, I’ll try to suggest explanations for these discrepancies.
