To PhD students at the Department of Astronomy, Mathematics,
Meteorology(MISU) and Physics (Fysikum):

*Invitation to the course "Ethics in Research".*

It is mandatory for all PhD students at Stockholm University to have a
proper education in and knowledge of ethics in research. For PhD
students at the departments listed above it is thus mandatory to take
part in the course "Ethics in research" (Forskningsetik och vetenskaplig
redlighet). The course is planned to be given once a year. Next
opportunity is in May this Spring, with a course start on Friday, May 6,
according to the attached schedule (the lectures on May 6 are fixed in
time, and mandatory, but as you see the rest of the schedule will be
announced later).

The course comprises a set of lectures given by Professor Christina
Moberg, KTH, followed by group discussions and presentations on specific
topics, lead by conveners from the four departments. English will be
used throughout. More details will be distributed prior to the course start.

To take part,  apply via email to Gorica Nikolic, student office,
Physics Department, 08-55378650, gorica.nikolic at fysik.su.se.

Deadline for application is Friday, April 8. Please give name,
department and the date for admission to graduate studies. Also, even if
you applied last time and could not join due to over-booking, please
apply again and inform us about this.  For PhD students at Fysikum -
this is part of the Introduction course - but you have to apply (as
described above) in order to follow the ethics part of the course now.

The number of participants is restricted to around 50. If the course is
overbooked, priority will be given to those who apply first (or applied
last time).

Welcome to apply,

Per-Erik Tegnér, course coordinator
