Här kommer information om den doktorandkurs som ges inom ramen för 
*Openlab*. Jag ber er vänligast att vidarebefordra denna information 
till doktorander vid er institution.

Openlab <https://openlabsthlm.se/> *s*tartades 2013 med syftet att vara 
en innovationsarena som stöder parterna i att samverka för att 
möjliggöra samhällsinnovationer för ett hållbart samhälle. Detta uppnås 
genom att bidra med kunskap och kompetens för att definiera behov och 
lösa aktuella och komplexa samhällsutmaningar.

Parterna är: Karolinska institutet, KTH, Region Stockholm, Stockholms 
stad, Södertörns högskola och Stockholms universitet.

Som en del av sin verksamhet erbjuder Openlab doktorandkursen ”Bridging 
Science and Societal Needs – Explore how your research can make greater 
societal impact through design methods” (4,5 hp). Kursen ges vid ett 
tillfälle per läsår, på engelska och den är sökbar för doktorander vid 
alla partnerlärosäten. *Nästa kurstillfälle är VT23 (kursstart i mars).*

Here is information about an interdisciplinary PhD course, offered by

Openlab <https://openlabsthlm.se/> is a challenge-driven innovation 
community providing courses for professionals, master’s students and PhD 
students. Together with their founding partners they are experts on 
innovation for the public sector through design methods and 
collaborative processes. Openlab focuses on challenges in four main 
areas: sustainable urban development, future healthcare, education and 
the ageing population.

The founding partners are Karolinska institutet, KTH, Region Stockholm, 
Stockholms stad, Södertörns högskola och Stockholms universitet.

/Bridging Science and Societal Needs through Design Thinking 
<https://openlabsthlm.se/phd-course/> /(4,5 credits) is an 
interdisciplinary course focusing on design thinking methodology as 
support for innovation and development in science and society. It is led 
by professors and lecturers representing each of the universities and 
will create conditions for doctoral students to connect and collaborate 
across disciplines and research fields. It is now open for application, 
and starts in March 2023.
