The Bolin Centre is a multi-disciplinary consortium of over 350 scientists in Sweden that conducts research and graduate education related to the Earth´s climate.
Report from the Bolin Centre Climate Festival
The Climate Festival is our biggest outreach event and is arranged yearly. This year we had over 1200 participants and the overall response from them has been very positive! A TV-team from UR Samtiden filmed all the popular science talks, this will be made into a TV-program which will probably be aired in the fall. The president of Stockholm University, Astrid Söderbergh Widding, visited the festival. You can read her thoughts about the festival HERE» (https://rektorsblogg.su.se/2018/05/26/fran-klimatfestival-till-intravitalmikroskopi/)
The Bert Bolin lecture with Veerabhadran Ramanathan was also given during the festival. The well visited lecture was engaging and focused on the possibilities of solving climate problems. Course on e-Science tools for climate research
The course announcement for this year's NeGI course "Climate science at high latitudes: Modeling and model evaluation", co-sponsored by the Bolin Centre, is out. This course aims to teach in a Nordic framework the next generation of scientists to integrate different e-Science tools and infrastructures to achieve a more holistic interpretation of the climate system and its components through model and data analysis. Call for research proposals in RA4 | Deadline today May 31 2018
The Bolin Centre Research Area 4 "Biogeochemical Cycles and Climate" invites new research proposals. We seek to fund two different types of projects during 2018–2019. One category is Innovation Projects of clear demonstrated novelty, with a potential risk, but high gain. The second category is Consolidation Projects, which build on already existing projects in an advanced stage with the purpose to support interesting complementary analyses. Volume for both types of projects is 100 kSEK, but depends on a clearly written work plan and budget justification.
