[Drand] Meeting about the teaching tasks for this year and the coming year

Dear all,

This is a reminder for tomorrw's meeting on being a teaching assistant, (agenda attached). The purpose of this informal meeting is to discuss what went well and less well the past year with respect to your teaching assignments. The meeting will take place in room FB54 starting at 13:00 (sharp).

Please note that the topics of discussion are intended to be very open and essentially governed by you, the teaching assistants. Please also consider that even if you did not have any particular problem(s) yourself, your opinion and input are valuable components in the discussions.

Finally, if you are unable to come tomorrow but have something you would like to be mentioned, don't hesitate to send me an e-mail.

Hello,

1 pm on Tuesday June 16 we will have an informal meeting where we can discuss what went well and less well during the academic year that is about to end.

Room will be announced later.

I would like at the same time to inform you about the status of my planning for the next academic year. Normally I would be about ready now and start to have individual discussions with each teaching assistant about his or her tasks.

This year I am late! This is to some extent related to the fact that the several new year 2 courses of the new program are not defined in detail yet, which makes it hard to plan the assistant tasks. Furthermore, I will now be away for a week. When I come back I will finish this work as soon as possible and then make a doodle offering slots during the weeks over summer where I will be present.

To those of you who did not teach last year but have applied to do so this year I am not yet far enough in the process to give you any useful indication, but it will come at latest the week after midsummer.

Dear PhD Students,

You who receive this message had (or applied without getting) assistantship (teaching or other) last year, but have not applied this year.

Some time ago I sent out requests for you to hand in applications for assistantship for the coming academic year. I sent that to the PhD student list ‘drand at fysik.su.se’ but I now realize now that not everyone is on that.

I got in many requests but not from you. I do realize that some of you are close to the finish line of your PhD and therefore perhaps do not plan to teach anymore. On the other hand this does not go for all of you.

I therefore ask you to hand in an application or alternatively to inform me that you do not want assistantship next year.
