Hi all, we meet this Wednesday at 13.15 on the 6th floor in the
western common room. Martin Sahlén will talk about :

Title: Cluster–Void Degeneracy Breaking: Dark Energy, Planck and the
Largest Cluster & Void

Abstract: Combining galaxy cluster and void abundances breaks the
degeneracy between mean matter density Ωm and power spectrum
normalization σ8. Consistent with Planck, we constrain Ωm and σ8 in a
flat ΛCDM universe, using extreme-value statistics on the claimed
largest cluster and void. We make a strong two-object detection of
dark energy, independent of other dark energy probes. Cluster–void
studies offer complementarity in degeneracy, scale, density, and
non-linearity – of particular interest for tests of modified gravity.
