Hi all,

We received the below request from Nordita. In case there is someone amongst you who feels like reading Verlinde’s paper in detail and present it in a journal club, let me know. I told them that we have covered it quite extensively already, but promised to ask anyways.

Cheers
Nico

Subject: help for Journal Club

hi Irene, Luis and Nico,
as you may know I organise the Journal Club at Nordita, and I would like to start planning the meetings for next year.

I would love to hear a JC on the latest paper by E. Verlinde
https://arxiv.org/abs/1611.02269
I am sure this would be of interest for everybody, and it would perfectly fit the purpose of the JC of keeping us updated on the most interesting recent preprints.
Unfortunately I don't know who would be willing to present this paper. Maybe someone working in cosmology would have an advantage in preparing for it. Given the length of the paper and its new material it is of course a challenging task, but I believe that a presentation that focuses only on certain aspects of that work would already be good (actually it would be best).
I was wondering if you could help me. I am contacting you guys because I don't know many people from OKC yet. Maybe some of you or someone else in OKC is interested in giving a JC on this paper? If you want we could discuss, about format, etc. I hope you let me know if you have suggestions.
Best,
Riccardo
