Dear colleagues,
The Centre for Genomic Ecology is recruiting 8 postgraduate
scholarships in Genomic Ecology see details in the Nature advert
(http://www.nature.com/naturejobs/science/jobs/49522) and the
description below. Could you please communicate this opportunity to
interested students.

*Deadline for applications is the 15th of May*
**

Thanks,
Dag Ahrén

The Centre for Genomic Ecology (CGE) is a new interdisciplinary research
environment at Lund University on the interface between ecology,
evolutionary biology, molecular biology, bioinformatics and genomics. A
long-term goal is to achieve an integrated understanding of the
molecular, evolutionary and ecological mechanisms and processes that are
involved in the generation of the immense diversity of form, and
function that characterizes living organisms. As part of this
initiative, The Swedish Research Council has funded a Graduate Research
School in Genomic Ecology. The research school is now opening 8 new
postgraduate scholarships in the following areas:

. Longitudinal experiments to understand molecular mechanisms behind
evolution of the modern yeast traits
. Invasion patterns of a bloom-forming alga
. Evolutionary dynamics of microbial communities
. Evolution of novel pheromones - molecular and genomic mechanisms
. Pheromone strains, host races and speciation in a moth
. Genome evolution of symbiotic and parasitic fungi
. Transcriptional responses in mycorrhizal fungi during weathering of
minerals
. Molecular interactions between symbiotic fungi and plant roots
