The Department of Pharmaceutical Biosciences has about 130 employees and a number of guest researchers and scholarship students. The Department has ten research groups with a common administration and we are engaged in research and teaching in biochemistry, pharmacology, pharmaceutical and drug addiction, pharmacotherapy, pharmacokinetics, pharmacometrics and toxicology. The Science for Life Laboratory, SciLifeLab, is a Swedish national center for molecular biosciences with focus on health and environmental research. The center combines frontline technical expertise with advanced knowledge of translational medicine and molecular bioscience. SciLifeLab is a joint effort between Karolinska Institutet, KTH Royal Institute of Technology, Stockholm University and Uppsala University. SciLifeLab was established in 2010 and appointed a national center in 2013. Today, approximately 1,500 persons work at the center’s two sites in Stockholm and Uppsala (www.scilifelab.se<http://www.scilifelab.se/>).

Duties: Management of incoming support issues at UPPMAX (www.uppmax.uu.se<http://www.uppmax.uu.se/>) concerning project administration and support in bioinformatics. Assist with reporting for relevant storage and computing resources. Assist on courses given within UPPMAX and SciLifeLab.

Requirements: Masters degree or similar in computer science, bioinformatics or a related area for the duties. Good programming skills and Linux competence is a requirement. Excellent skills in spoken and written English are required.

Additional qualifications: This is an interdisciplinary position and understanding/interest in life science applications is meriting. Previous experience of high-performance computing and the queueing system SLURM is meriting.
