?Stockholm Resilience Centre and the Potsdam Institute for Climate Impact Research are coordinating recruitment of four post-doctoral researchers to join an international collaborative project on new-generation Earth system modelling to investigate Earth's paleo-climatic shifts and Earth resilience in the Anthropocene, with the endeavour of scientifically defining a safe operating space for humanity on Earth.

Land biosphere dynamics (SU)
The task involves modelling terrestrial biosphere dynamics and their interactions with climatic and social dynamics, including tipping points, in the context of the planetary boundaries framework.

Marine biosphere dynamics (SU)
The task involves modelling the marine biosphere and ocean circulation in the context of an integrated Earth System model, exploring non-linear dynamics and interactions among planetary boundaries.

Atmosphere dynamics (PIK)
The task involves further validation and improvement of the innovative Aeolus atmosphere model developed at PIK, and advancing the integrated Earth System modelling of paleoclimate and the Anthropocene.

Ocean circulation dynamics (PIK)
The task involves modelling the global ocean circulation with focus on nonlinear thresholds, ice-ocean interaction and transient paleoclimate simulations.
